    Description

    This beautiful little antique snuff box has a hinged lid which opens only as far as is shown in the photo. There's a tiny hole in each side that shows the end of the hinge - I can't tell if it's made of wood or metal. The wood looks like maple - not  heavily burled, but there are some  small swirls and pleasing variations in color.
    It measures 2 5/8 by 1 5/8 inches. The lid fits very closely, and the box is easy to open. There are some small light scratches on the bottom, and a small shallow hole that may be a natural flaw.
