Ford Model A Starter Installation 12 Volt
REPLACING INERTIA UNITS:
Most cars originally fitted with inertia starters have a separate
remote mounted solenoid and a single heavy power cable
connecting this to the starter.
1. Disconnect the power cable and remove the old unit.
2. Using the original hardware. Fit the Pro-Tork unit to the car leaving the link/shunt wire in place.
3.Using remote mounted solenoid relay.
Connect the main power cable (Usually 4 gauge) to the large B+ starter stud terminal. Connect the link/shunt wire between the B+ stud and the “S” spade/post using ring terminal connectors.
Now using 12V only battery and remote mounted solenoid relay. Connect the ignition switch trigger wire to the “S” connection on the remote solenoid relay.
OR
4. Using three or four position ignition switch or starter button.
Connect the main power cable (Usually 4 gauge) to the large B+ starter stud terminal and ensure the
link/shunt wire is removed
from spade or post and connect the ignition switch “S” trigger wire to the “S” spade or small post on the starter that is next to the B+ post.
Double check all connections and hardware for fit and finish.

Issues with Order
If you get an item "that isn't as described" please be clear in stating what is different about the listing and the product you received. On rare occasions we do have shipping errors but ordering a starter because it looked the same is not "item not as described". There are many starters that look very similar to others and unless you are certain the product you order is correct prior to ordering we consider it to be user error. It is pretty simple to send a message to us to confirm the product you order is correct prior to ordering. Pictures
Pictures are not always of the exact product. Sometimes an OEM picture may be used or a different color product (ie gray alternator, but black one in picture) but the purpose of the picture is to provide you with the style and specs of the product. If you aren’t sure if the pulley is included please confirm prior to purchasing. We sell pulleys as well so if the item doesn’t include pulley we likely would be able to supply pulley. If one of our products is OEM we state it as such in the
part brand
section of item specifics. We sell OEM and aftermarket products. If you aren’t sure please ask prior to purchasing.
Warranty
Most of the returns we get either are 100% functional products or have a simple problem such as bad battery or dirty/loose/misconnected cables. Please make sure you contact us to see if we can help you resolve any issues before diagnosing a product as warranty. If you take our product to a shop to test and pay to have it tested, please insist on a copy of the results as we will require it in order to approve return.
Shipping Estimated Arrival Times
Please note that shipping times on eBay are estimates. We do not control arrival times of packages. We do ship out on time with tracking. We ship from multiple locations and generally our product arrives faster than the estimated times but on occasion that wont be the case. We ship USPS and UPS ground service, Our choice. If you order on a Friday at 3 pm central time your product will not ship until Monday or the next business day. We ship our eBay orders up until 3 pm central standard time. We do not ship product on weekends or holidays.
