    Here is an Awesome Black Mic Mac Style Pipe with a Sumac stem.
    The bowl is hand carved by Jay Rather from a very nice piece of black pipestone or steatite. The bowl has been conically drilled. It has a super polish, very clean lines and classic styling.
    The stem is hand carved and hot wire reamed from Sumac. This stem has been stained with natural pigments, polished to a fine luster, and waxed to protect.
    This pipe is brand new, never smoked, and it's fully functional. It was created recently by expert pipe carver, Jay Rather.

    Bowl Measures 2 & 1/2 inches tall
    Overall Length with stem inserted 14 & 1/2 inches long

    ABOUT THE ARTIST
    Jay Rather, "The Pipecarver":
    Rather began, his artistic career as a Realistic Watercolor Artist, with nationwide gallery affiliations and his work became part of private as well as corporate art collections. He has had a lifelong interest in all things "Native American", greatly admiring all forms of their artwork. He began collecting artifacts, and then replicating the beauty he found in them. He creates using traditional design as well as his own.
    Rather has been offering his Modern, Hand Carved, American Indian Style Pipes first and foremost to Native Americans and others for their Spiritual Journeys with Prayer Pipes, Medicine Pipes and for Ceremonial purposes for two decades. His work has been purchased by Native Americans, collectors, museums, educational institutions, and the motion picture industry, throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
    Rather uses Quality Pipestone of Sacred Catlinite , Steatite, and other stone used by pipe makers of the past. Styles include: Plains Indian T Pipes, Effigy, Disc, Platform, Tube, Pipe-Tomahawk, Mic-Mac, and Elbow Pipes to name a few. In addition to pipes Rather is a knife maker and knaps points and blades from flint and other materials. You will also find his work to include fine celts, axes, banner stones, gorgets, discoidals, pendants,and more.
    Rather, known as "The Pipecarver", has an online photo gallery by that same name, where a collection of some of his work (pipes and repro artifacts) including the work of his son, Lance Rather, an expert carver of effigy pipes can be viewed. Along with those talented carvers, Jay's wife Karen, also working predominately in effigy pipes carves as well. Most works on "THEPIPECARVER" Web Site, in the photo gallery have been sold, but a few are available.
