Description
This is a Seabury & Johnson Ready-Aid tin, that used to contain medical plasters for minor cuts and abrasions. The Seabury & Johnson Company was dismantled and became the Johnson & Johnson Company in 1886, so this tin has to be from sometime in that era to the best of my
knowledge
and research.
The tin is rusted inside, but you can still read the instructions printed on the inside top of the box (see photos).
It doesn't close easily due to some of the edges being bent, but they could be straightened. The box still has enough
integrity
to do that.
It is about 3 1/2 inches square, and a little over 1/4 inch deep.
