Anritsu MS8604A Digital Mobile Radio Transmitter Tester / Spectrum Analyzer
Specified frequency range is 100 Hz to 8.5 GHz
I bought this used about 15 years ago. I didn't need the mobile radio testing capability, I just wanted a basic spectrum analyzer up to about 1 GHz for some EMC testing and this seemed to work. Now I'm getting ready to retire so I'm selling the equipment I've bought over the years. I haven't used this in probably 10 years. I turned it on and connected the input to an HP 8647A Generator. I took pictures of several different settings. You can see the settings on the generator and on the spectrum analyzer in the pictures.
In the first picture I set the generator to 1.2 MHz with an output of -20 dBm. I connected to the high power input port on the spectrum analyzer which has a 20 dB attenuator. On the analyzer you can see the marker reads 1.204 MHz and -40.12 dB.
You can read the start and stop frequencies at the bottom of the analyzer screen.
The second photo is 55 MHz at -20 dBm, the third is the same output with a different start and stop frequency on the analyzer.
The fourth photo is 600 MHz output at 0 dBm. The Analyzer read 595.0 MHz and -24.71 dBm.
Neither the generator nor the analyzer have been calibrated in years.
Also I'm using some 100 ft long cable that probably attenuates the signal several dB as well.
The last photo is 25 MHz at -40 dBm. The marker reads 25.01 MHz and -61.5 dBm.
I don't have any way to test anything above 1 GHz so I don't know if it's working or not. I also don't know if the digital mobile radio transmitter tester functions are working or not. Therefore I'm selling AS-IS with no returns.
The auction is for the Anritsu MS8604A only. The HP generator and signal cable are not included.
